Root canal treatment, is a dental procedure aimed at saving a tooth whose pulp (soft tissue inside the tooth) is infected or damaged. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp, cleaning the inside of the tooth, and filling it with a sealing material to prevent further infections. Root canal treatment relieves pain, saves the tooth, and avoids extraction. After the treatment, a crown may be placed to restore the strength and function of the tooth.
